I refinish furniture full time. Mostly wood pieces but have recently started refinishing upholstered items as well. My experience with this product is Terrible coverage. I was trying to refinish a wingback chair. I used 4 small bottles and 3 large bottles mixed to get the slate blue I was wanting and it wasn’t enough. By my estimation it would have taken at least 4 more large bottles to have need coverage. Fairly close to $350-$400 in product… I was seriously bummed…. at that point I could have just had it reupholstered and had it perfect and like new.
Couple of great points though… there was Zero color transfer when sitting on the seat cushion. Also when I went to go a different route on it I used my upholstery cleaning machine to remove any loose paint and re-wet the fabric and there was very little to almost none of the fabric paint in the dirty water side of my machine. I was very impressed with the staying power as well as the durability of this product. Also the fact that the fabric felt good not stiff and like sandpaper like so many other fabric paints! I think it is a great product on small projects…. I would be hesitant to try and cover anything large or X-Large. It wouldn’t be feasible.
