I used this in combination with the Diffusion HD 54 mm plate. The basket was not a good fit with my crema protafilter. I decided to buy the hybrid portafilter which is also a lovely product. The basket was a very tight fit with the pesado portafilter. I think the spring might need to be a bit thinner for easy of removing the basket. BUT when I did get it to work, the flow was immaculate. There was no splatter.

After seeing an ad for the pesado diffuser/screen, I checked my Breville dual boiler and saw that the diffuser had cracked, just like the ads suggested. I bought and installed the 58mm version and I am surprised at how obvious the benefit is - the result is undoubtedly an improvement. The pull is even better compared to when we first bought the dual boiler 2 years ago.

It took me a little time to get the shower screen installed properly. There were no instructions so I had to search YT videos. Once installed and a dialing in, the results were very good. Extraction gives a more flavorful espresso.

The High Extraction Filter basket is really effective at extracting more from my coffee. I had to go a little finer with my grinder to maintain the correct extraction ratio and that meant the water was in contact with more of the coffee. I'm really pleased with the result in the cup as it has improved the flavour profile of my coffee. Teamed up with the shower screen, I have a winning combination.

I thought the pics of shattered screen discs was a bit of an exaggeration, but sure enough after receiving my new Pesado set for my Dual boiler, I opened it up and that disc virtually fell down in three pieces!!! I use a 9Barista with a 53.5 mm IMS basket, and since the dosing ring is listed as 54 mm, I initially thought it would be a good fit. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. The Pesado screen makes a noticable improvement to the consistency of shots. The stock Breville shower screen was fairly clogged when I removed it and now there is nothing to get clogged as the distribution slots are too large. The waste coffee puck is much denser and tends to stay in one piece now in the knockbox, which I'm guessing is an indication of tighter and more even extraction. Had my Breville Oracle for at least 5 years now, the original diffuser was plastic and when I removed it the plastic was broken and split! No wonder it didn’t brew as consistently any more.
