Awesome kit! The Vcarve files have perfect tool paths and very good instructions when paired with Ryan’s instructional video. The kit contains quality materials that are perfect for creating the first of many quality tortilla presses. I customized mine with a special message using the techniques I learned from the clock kit to create high quality painted engravings. Keep up the good work Ryan and team!

this was a great inlay kit. i liked having 3 options to pick from. This was my first time using the inlay bit set with the 30 degree V bit. I usually have used a 90 degree. I am not sure with is better, both turned out very good. I am looking forward to next months kit. Thanks for providing the kits, i really appreciate it.

So far I have purchased your Custom Inlay Builder Kits 3 times. And bought multiple kits each time. And I have been happy with each kit! The boards are always very flat, because you wrap them each in cellophane plastic, which keeps the moisture out!! I'm getting ready to buy more kits this week. I also think they are a great value!! Great kit as usual from CIC. I was originally planning on doing one of their designs but changes my mind at the last minute as it was a gift for my daughter in law. Regardless of the design change, the instructions were the same and any mistakes were my own. The materials were excellent and very well done. I had a blast creating this and look forward to next month's kit. Keep up the great work!

The spalted sycamore base with the walnut inlay really turned out great, it has kind of a camouflage effect to it. As always both the base and inlay blank were dead flat and sanded to a near perfect surface. My only complaint is that the spalted sycamore was a little more prone to chip out than a maple or walnut base.

Fantastic product and a pleasure to machine. Everything went together smoothly and the design is spot on. I do recommend doing a quick test fit first, as you may want to add a small offset allowance to get perfectly tight joints. Cut exactly as provided, it can come out just a touch loose. For my build using 18 mm ply, a 1.75 mm adjustment made everything absolutely perfect. Assembly took only minutes after machining, and it works beautifully. Highly recommended.

Nice, quick project. The files worked great, no issues with the materials either. Completely agree with screwing down the acrylic sheet, it was very flexible, would not have worked with clamps. I have a little more finishing to do in the trenches and figure out a final treatment. This is how it turned out with what was included! Thanks for the great kit!

When starting this build, I was a little nervous about it, having never made a rocking chair. I looked at the file, watched Ryan's video, and did everything he suggested in the video. The way he has it designed, a couple of the parts were tight and a little hard to put together, but they have to be to give the chair structural rigidity. Enjoyed this project. I used an old piece of a/c plywood 23/32 that I programmed the cut to the 18mm file for great fit. My plywood sheet was 27x30 inches so I was able to screw the board down without the drill holes in the actual clamp. I added tabs to keep it all together. I’m using Carbide create pro v838 on a Shapeoko xxl and when I entered the toolpaths for some reason the 1/4 in downcut for the slots would show as an empty toolpath. I had to select my 1/8 up cut bit to make it work ...

Neat project. I haven’t done any epoxy work before, it was nice to have something easy for the first go at it. I ran into some issues with settings for the surfacing passes, had to do a little tinkering to make it successful. The screws I used to hold down the wood ended up splitting it twice. Once at the very start and again on the last step. My fault for over tightening them. Ornaments turned out great, I hit them with some mineral oil for a finish. I saw the video on this kit of the month and bought fast. I decided to make my own designs. As you can see they came out great. I used colored epoxy for the logos and for the numbers I used epoxy with glow in the dark pigments. I'm making a Marine Corps one with 12 and 24 time same concept. Will post those pictures soon

Love this kit, the end grain is beautiful. I would buy again. Really appreciate the professionalism they put into their products. Unfortunately my desk top CNC is not strong enough to to do the male insert for this board (ruined the maple insert 😔), so I had to go with expoxy. It still turned out very well!

I was worried about using the wood! It was so awesome looking in the raw. My personal phobia. It was very simple to use, clean cuts using a good, not great bit. I will be buying more materials. All these are gifts, I give. I also used the CIC Roundover but and listening to the team at CIC, it worked 1st try!!!!

This file is put together very well, for me it was a 16 minute carving from pressing go to it being done, a few minutes to glue up and install the hinge then finished with osmo polyx oil, highly recommend.

Cuts easy and appears to be durable. Had a little bit of cleanup in the lines from some plastic burrs leftover but that could be my fault as it was my first time using it. I like the way it looks..

Bought these last on November 2024. I got to them in Feb. of these year. So far the boards are stable with no warping. The rose was for my girlfriend, Rose. The 3 blade propeller was for my nephew who flies small planes. I have to say that I have extreme confidence these will last a long, long time as both my girlfriend and nephew use these as kitchen countertop displays. I also recently ordered the small kit. Lots of fun making this rocker!! a bit challenging because I didn't pay attention to the fact that my worksurface is 33x33 and the piece of BAMX I bought was 24x36.... worked out well though! Carbide Create doesn't do the fluting easily so I omitted that part. It's a bit early for my 6 month old grandson but he'll grow into it!!
