I ordered this bit and the UC2175 1/8” up cut bit to do this project. I ordered the file from Broinwood. The TBN did an awesome job once I dialed in the settings. I will be ordering a few more bits in the future.

Was very happy and pleased with my first experience using the multilayered HDPE and can see many future projects where i can put it to use. The mailbox numbers doing a two sided project was good learning experience as well to ensure the numbers were oriented correctly. I did some tweaks to my program after this prototype cut so my next one should look even better.

This was a fun project to make come to life. I was so excited to see the final result as I was surfacing the maple and removing the plug. I can’t wait to complete more inlay project. Ryan’s file that came along with this kits is spot on. Few tweaks and it comes out just like this. My only small issue is the 30 def vbit tip broke off. I used the feed and speed that is recommended in the CIC vectric tool library. Maybe I needed to use two passes.

It did a really nice job of showing me I needed to flatten my spoil board. I personally find it annoying to add juice grooves to boards, but after I fixed my problem The bit worked really well and I'll probably start putting them in more now that I've got this bit.

Cut the I'm retired. It went great. Didn't pay attention for when I cut the 5 o'clock starting spot and it moved up and I cut a couple of 5's in the wrong spot before I stopped it. Took a couple of corners off the retirement clock and made some male inserts following Ryan's inlay video and glued them in. Still need to clean that up and start over on the other side. Very good inlay file. Inlayed with mahogany veneer into maple. Did the inlay with a 20w diode laser. Engraved the maple to .5 mm and did the mirror image of the deer and inverse and burned the inlay. put the veneer onto Aluminum tape before cutting out pieces and then just glue the veneer into the maple and let dry. Remove aluminum tape and sand and it is perfect.

I ordered the custom inlay kit from CIC and was very happy with the results. I live in Michigan and thought it would be great to create an inlay cutting board that honored our great state. This was my first attempt at an inlay and I had some mistakes but all in all, it was a great experience. I will definitely be creating additional cutting boards in the future. The kit was well packaged and the flag blank was beautiful quality and the handwritten note was nice too. Files worked great and were relatively easy to use. My only suggestion would be to would be have in the instructions to run the star cutting tool path twice (cleans the fuzz out of the stars). I noticed it in the video only after Id finished. I might suggest using white pigment instead of the mica powder as I felt the stars were a little 'milky'. Overall great product!
