I loaned a new Shapeoko 5.1 Pro CNC router to TekVenture Makerspace last winter, but only recently had time to start using it for some of my projects. One of the first has been thank you plaques for donors to Scouting America projects. I wanted a sign for my event canopy that showed my company logo. This was my first time using Color Core. I was a bit nervous cutting it out, but I did a lot of careful planning and it came out great! I did go back and did a finishing pass with a smaller step over to remove a bit more of the residual plastic in the letters. And still needed to do a bit of cleanup. Ordered the walnut project pack. Order was filled quickly and showed up a day earlier than the estimated delivery date. All 30 of the pieces were dimensionally 100% on the money. Square, flat and smooth. The wood itself was absolutely choice. Not one knot hole, chip, or crack in the whole box. I couldn’t be happier with the cutting board blank I purchased from CIC. The quality of the wood was outstanding—flat, well-glued, and ready to machine. It was the perfect foundation for one of my custom CNC inlay cutting boards. That board ended up being donated to the Homeless Warriors Charity auction during Southern Rock Woodstock, where it sold for $600 to help support homeless veterans. I recently built these three tables. Two of the table tops were wood panels from CIC and the third table top was made from a CIC project pack. The framing for the walnut table was made mostly from a hardwood lumber pack from CIC. All of these materials arrived ready to use and were flat and straight. I will continue to buy materials from CIC because I have confidence in the quality and condition of the items. I have also used many CIC cutters and find them all to be of high quality. I part...
