This is a modernized Scottish sgian dubh- a knife tucked in the top of one’s sock when wearing a kilt. The wood is bloodwood. The handle was made from one piece and the sheath is made from two pieces. It’s quite lovely wood and is nice and hard for things like knife handles, etc. I like it.

Perfect product for my strange application. I needed a piece of ebony that was thin enough (3/8 or smaller), long enough (over 30") and wide enough (over 2") that it could be planed down to make segments for a striped guitar neck and ebony was a MUST! Nice piece of basswood, two pieces glued together as received with an almost invisible seam. Can't say the same for the inset pieces of of bloodwood. These were pretty highly cupped, and not usable without planing.

@TumbleweedGuitar used maple for the neck of this "Scrofabelli" baritone, from Exotic Wood Zone. I used cherry from EWZ for the hollow body. Cherry is becoming my favorite wood for bodies, and maple is the only wood for a neck.

The Spalted Tamarind is destined to be the top piece in a three piece SG guitar body. I used this wood in another guitar a few months back. They shipped quickly, nice grain patterns. Reasonably priced compared to other bodies of the same quality. They did have some scorch marks that were a little deep. So the bit could have been sharper. Neck pocket needed to be widened to fit a traditional Telecaster neck, but It fit a mighty might neck snuggly.
Overall, pretty happy so far.
