I like this wood alot and they turn out crazy nice i have only had one problem with the wood i got ten pieces of this and I had two that i had cut for pens and they both came apart on me while I was cutting them on the machine it strange that never really happens and they were cut and drilled right so I guess maybe soft in the middle or something but will keep on with the rest and hopefully that was just a thing with just those two but like I said the wood looks insane and I really like it..ty a...

The two-piece blank itself is great - the seam is barely visible (the line in the picture is a pencil mark delineating the centerline for the bass) and tear out from planing is minimal. The wood quality is excellent, very clean, and free from defects.

While not perfectly black, these ebony blanks were excellent. I have not been able to get pure black ebony for quite some time now from any source. The surface quality was excellent, although I had to do some sanding to get them to my final desired thickness. The edges were not far from true, so did not take much effort to get a true edge for use with my fret template.

I love this wood. I didn't know it in advance but it's very oily and literally shines itself as a grind it. Cost is very low and the quality is very good the color is a deep orange, red and literally seems to polish itself as I work it with an angle grinder. Ive used it to build the handle for a Siberian black jade skinning knife.

First time using this, but the fit and finish seem excellent and it's small enough to fit into my relatively shallow necks. The only challenge with the difference in width and depth between the adjustment barrel, the end fabrication point and the actual rod. So, there are three different "sizes" to the overall rod. Can't just run one channel down the neck and be done. Had to route two additional short channels on the adjustment end.

I bought the Cherry Guitar Body Blank to make a vibration isolation stand for my turntable. I ordered 2 pieces glued and planed. I should have requested both ends planed as well but got it done with 80-120220 grit paper. Stained natural and applied 3 coats of polyurethane. Finished with 4 rubber & cork 2"x2" vibration pads. Functions, Looks great and had fun with the project. Exotic Wood was a great find with quick ship and quality product. On to my next wood project!

This is a beautiful piece of wood. Using it to create a set of checkers to get the most use out of the maple/walnut board I made for the maple/padauk chess pieces. The red checkers are bloodwood. Turned a raised center on the top of the checkers to align with the 1" cavity on the underside. Used a butcher-block wax finish on the Zebra wood pieces, wipe on poly for the bloodwood pieces, which is un-necessary. Wax leaves a consistent, smooth surface.

The one thing you have to watch is they are unmarked. I ordered some that were similar, and having never turned them before I had trouble telling some of them apart. I ordered 10 BF of 8/4 Ambrosia Maple as a replacement for wood I ordered for a client but was hung up in customs from a Canadian supplier I use frequently. I ordered it and contacted customer service to see how soon they could get it out. She informed me they were out of 8/4 but couldn’t substitute 12/4. I told them to go ahead with it and it was shipped the same day. That was a Monday and I had it here in my shop on Wednesday.
