This 10 Frame Top and inner cover is constructed with very excellent material and craftsmanship. Very Sturdy and dipped in bees wax to help protect the wood and prolong the life of the top cover. The top is also covered with a sheet of heavy aluminum steel, again to protect the wood. I have bought several so I can break the hive stacks down and start new colonies. It's a Great product. These hives are very affordable. They are very easy to assemble, and are very well made! I have 3 of these hives, 1 is 6 years old and is showing some fading from the sun, but it is still in use, and full of bees. They are very good hives for the beginning beekeepers, or seasoned veterans. There is no need to wait for paint fumes to clear out of the hive. The wax coating is ready for use immediately after assembly. Great hives!!!

Pleasantly surprised with the quality and durability of everything! The box came pre-assembled, dipped in wax and is made with good quality cedar wood. The frames were easy to construct and went together nice and tight without any need for alterations. As a new Beek, I suspect I won't use a majority of the tools included, but it will be nice not to have chintzy knockoffs when I do need need them. I will definitely be purchasing more boxes from BeeCastle in the future!

I really like this hive. I bought it on sale for a cheaper price than similar hives. It was a better quality with tighter dovetail joints. The screws were a higher quality and coated to prevent rust. I received my beginner medium and super and have added just a box from another company. Big mistake. Dove tails were horrible, not worth it. So when I needed more frames I cam back to Bee Castle. They come packaged professionally. They come together in minutes, and I am NOT crafty. They smell so good, coated with bee's wax. I always add my own. I am never going elsewhere.

Bought 3 of these to assemble. Very good quality, but had a couple of splits that were easily glued. Having 3 to do, I can say that for me, it was easier to turn the box upside down and open them so I started assembling the deeps first, then the supers, then frames. That gave me a good place to put the frames as I finished them.
Took maybe 90 minutes to assemble each one as well as glue all the joints.
The wax was awesome on these! Very nice looking when completed, and when I took the hives back...

They are good quality hive bodies. The only thing I will point out is that they are not interchangeable with the logo Bee Castle hive bodies. I keep spare boxes stored unassembled and happend to grab pieces of each and they did not fit together. Other than that I have no complaints and will buy again.

Awesome heavly waxed boxes - tight joints, pre-drilled and countersunk screw holes....and brass screws with 6 extra screws. What's not to like about this set? Heavily waxed foundation, and frames with wire holes for wax comb - and includes nails for the frames. Order came quickly. The mid height super is very good quality and went together very well. I am pleased with the value of this product. You do have to be careful not to put too much force on the box dovetail joints since they are a snug fit. Take your time there during assembly and tap them together slowly and gently.

1st year beekeeper, long time carpenter. Picking up first two packages of bees in 48 hrs. Can't tell ya how the bees like em. But from a builders stand point, they are great! Dovetails are tight. Boxes square up pretty well on their own. My only suggestion, scrape the excess wax off joinery before assembly.

As usual, bee castle delivers. I like the complete hive setup with sturdy frames and waxed foundations. The dovetail joints are tight and screws are rust resistant. I choose cedar over pine all day long. I only wish the inner top came with a bee entrance like my other beecastle hive did.
