I've been using my Genie daily since I got it. Everyday I find a new use or experiment with a new type of food. A neighbor gave me basil and it's in two jars now and another neighbor gave me fresh sage. If it keeps it fresh I'll be delighted. My best recommendation is for brown sugar. I had another friend turn me on to that. I've had brown sugar fresh for over a year! It's a miracle.

It took a bit to figure things out. The charging port is very tight. I have to push the charger in VERY hard, until I hear a click. Also, the gaskets on the Mason Genie were very tight to begin with. It was extremely difficult for me to pull the genie off of the jar. Now, after numerous uses, it's loosened a bit so I can pull it off (though the gasket is still strong enough for a good seal.)
