I waited to reply to this after I had a chance to wash them. The socks are very soft and have a good weight to them. They are not flimsy but thick and warm. I don't really need compression socks but wanted well made, comfortable knee socks mostly for warmth. They wash well, I turned them inside out, put them in the washer, and line dried them. As a plus size person, I have found it difficult to find compression socks that are comfortable, even the ones that come in wide calf. I have been wearing compression socks for 3 years now and I've never found a pair that comes even close to these as far as comfort and ease of putting on and taking off. My complaint with compression socks has been that they squish my toes together. I've even tried to cut off the toes to see if that would help. These socks do not do that.
