I have suffered from Varicose and venous insufficiency for a majority of my life. My right leg especially since I broke it at 5 had a large painful vein for as long as I can remember. I waited to reply to this after I had a chance to wash them. The socks are very soft and have a good weight to them. They are not flimsy but thick and warm. I don't really need compression socks but wanted well made, comfortable knee socks mostly for warmth. They wash well, I turned them inside out, put them in the washer, and line dried them.
