I needed a riser or stand to elevate my laptop while reading from it and taking notes on my iPad. I was hesitant though because #1-i have two 100+ lb dogs that run around like a herd of elephants, and #2- I’m clumsy! I'm using this in my home office and love it. It is so versatile. There is so much versatility with this stand. I feel like every piece can be maneuvered. The width of the stand to hold the laptop, how far spread you want the legs to be, the little arms that hold the laptop can move, the height, the angle... really, every piece of this stand can be moved. This has to be my favorite laptop / display stand yet. I bought it because the base width and length can be adjusted; something I need due to the shallow / low depth desk I'm using (see first pic). That being said, the manufacturer would do well to build the top piece with laptop hooks on all four arms, not just the bottom side.
