It's true, she's a big girl.
This saw only has one direct competitor in the US; the Makita beam saw. Same blade size but the similarities end there. The Makita is a direct drive (sidewinder) type while this Skil is a worm drive. The Makita comes with a famously flimsy sheet metal base (an aftermarket thick alloy base costs $1k) while the Skil sits an a rigid, ribbed light alloy base.
