It was like Christmas in the summertime! I loved playing with my new toy. I did find something very useful. The Daniel Smith dot card had a couple new colors. I just ordered a tube of German Greenish Raw Umber and Mayan Dark Blue. I don’t usually is gauche paints. I played with the paint a little but didn’t do the activity. I do enjoy looking at the activity suggestions. This is a great idea. I love Sketchbox.

Soooo…I was watching another person I subscribe to on YouTube and she encouraged everyone in her video to indulge in a Grab Bag should @SketchBox advertise availability. And…I saw Grab Bags on Instagram, limited availability, and GRABBED one. I was delightfully surprised at all the goodies…some I had from previous SketchBox monthly goodies, but some I didn’t. I splurged on the special edition sketchbox for myself. I wasn’t disappointed. They are always fun. I love watercolor and it had a variety of paints and Windsor Newton watercolor pencils. It also came with a paint pen that I have not tried yet. And quality watercolor paper. Whether you are an artist wanting to play with new products or need a gift for artists in your life - it’s worth it.

This watercolor paper may be small but it's mighty. The round shape gives unique design challenges, but for me that's a good thing! This looks great with my fine watercolors and since it's glued all the way around, there's no fussy taping. Fun to use!

I use colored pencils a great deal in my art. This box was a happy surprise and has elevated my art. The pencils are good quality and the color range masked it easy to grab the cylinder (which I really like) and go. The blender has a different result than the one I use, so now I have a choice. I actually ordered another sharpener just like the starter in the box because it is spot on. Another successful arrival to my studio!

Okay please disregard that I'm not skilled with Markers. I was using the Tombow ABT Pro ALCOHOL BASED markers. So I've been trying out different paper and this paper is Incredible! I have put lots of layers on to this paper and it kind of stays on top.. again I've not used markers often. I'm a hobby artist at Best, to mix some. I took a picture of front and back, to show just how awesome it was. I want to get a full size pad of this stuff now!

I love this sketchbook so much, I ordered a second book. The first, I call my "Book of Pairs." The size of the pages is perfect for small snippets of art and the quality of the paper and the sketchbook overall is exceptional.

I love the Beam paints! I love metallic watercolor paints. I love posca markers! The white gouache paint is very useful (not shown in photo). Always wanted to try the Sauders WC paper from England. The W&N wc pencils with own case is a good addition. Overall, I highly recommend this Limited Ed. Sketchbox, 10/10!

I am giving a review on the sketchbox with the powdered watercolor. I didn’t get the colored pencil box but I haven’t given a review on the powdered watercolor. It was exciting when the water touched the colored powder. It was intense color with a bit of another color. Sometimes when I tapped the powder too much came out so when the water touched it, it was very dark. I could remedy this with water or another color. My paintings are abstract with markmaking and mixed media.

I have another liner brush, but this one is so much better. I was able to get fine lines for the picture I'm posting. This is a big game changer for me when it comes to trees. I hope also to use it for rigging on ships in the future.

I really loved the creamy texture of the Shinhan Gouache, and the color of the M.Graham Gouach. Everything worked together so well, and I got another great Sketchbox paintbrush too! I will be using this color set for some fall colors.

So, I started with a doodle. Turns out that while the ink is wet, you can intentionally use a wet brush to feather it out. So, I show off one of just the pen and then what happens after I get the other colors out.

I love getting my box every month of supplies I get to choose. I usually try new things I have never used before. What a great way to find new favorite mediums. I especially love using the powdered watercolors to do the underpainting on my canvases. They make really great effects depending on what I use.

The perfect sized bag. I use it for watercolor sketching. Large enough to hold my Stablo easel. Pockets are a practical, useful size. My only slightly negative comment concerns the strap. I wish it wasn’t sewn into the bag. Clips on the strap ends to allow it to be used as a sling bag or backpack in addition to the shoulder would be better. This would allow different carry options. That said, I highly recommend this bag.

This is a really nice set and the price was irresistible. The paint colors are gorgeous. I love the beet red, especially. I’ve been using this kit to paint ACEO size tiny holiday paintings as shown.
