We use it a bit differently. The round bale in the hayhut left quite a mess of hay. We use the 5 foot net to cover the bale, then fold it back on itself about a 1/3 of the way up. Pull it tight then put the hut over it and tie the residual closing cord to the hut so it's easy to find. Once the hay level drops to below the windows we pull the net. Minimal hay mess!
