I started with primer then I used base black. After that I sprayed pitch black and then the fun started I put Tropicana Subtle shift Midcoat on top and after that I clear coated it. And the results are a one of a kind gold bronze color that shines purple in the dark when you point a flash light at it. All the products are from alpha. Amazing results I will use alpha products again in the future.

Started with black sealer 2 coats then applied 2 coats of celestial purple base useing 1.5 tip at 22.5 lbs air then crossed fogged 3 rd coat allowed 1 HR dry then applied 1 tack coat and 2 medium to heavy coats of clear. The sealer went on super smooth the base was a little tricky but if you ever sprayed good old metal flake back in the 70's yea been doing this for a minute! This is much easier to apply. It works really well for my first time actually spray painting something. It went on really nice. I put this. plastic adhesion. Promoter that I bought at O’Reilly’s on the mirror first then I spray painted it with the actual paint and then I threw two layers of clearcoat on top of it to give it that glossy look and it turned out really nice

I also used a different 2k clear coat from AutoZone on a different piece of the same project, and it did not set well like this one did. I purchased three different ready to spray purples to test how they would lay out and aid in choosing a color for a 240Z I will be painting. Ultimately the owner choose the midnight purple, but this Aurora Purple sure is a cool color. A little more relaxed and less flake than the Celestial Purple that I also sprayed alongside of it. The photos are of a test trunk panel with some gold leaf. This was my first attempt at lettering with gold leaf.
