I bought these boots for a trip to South Africa - Drakensberg mountains. Honestly, it didn’t let me down, extremely comfortable to walk up and down the rocks but also to protect my legs when going into the bushy zones. They are very light and flexible to walk with (this was for me the principal requirement) I did dive them in to stream pools to fetch clean water and I would say they are 98% waterproof. I have, at age 60, pretty fussy feet, with almost no fat pad on the balls of my feet. I wear orthotics and very cushioned shoes for hiking or long days out and about. These shoes wouldn’t have enough cushioning and support for my feet for extended outdoor outings. Just maybe for quick trips to the grocery store in good weather. In my last review I noted how well these shoes have performed for the very specific needs of my job--comfortable for being on my feet all day, breathable, quick-dry, and good traction in wet environments. We had purchased some Saguaro shoes last year and wear them all the time. We were surprised with the quality for the price, so we decided to gamble on these boots, and I am not disappointed!
