Everything I was looking for in a travel bag. Being waterproof is the most important thing for me and this bag absolutely holds up even in the most heaviest of downpours. This bag is absolutely amazing. I love the way it looks and feels and it has so much room, I could pack for a week. Fabric is very heavy duty and definitely water proof. Zipper quality seems very good. When bag is zipped, you can’t really see the zippers. Not sure how they did that. Outside pocket has quite a bit of room, more than any I’ve ever had. I am so happy with my new Portland Gear backpack. I have been looking for something that can function comfortably on trips. Love the fact that is waterproof, and fits snugly and comfortably leaving your hands-free to handle other luggage. I'm really enjoying this Portland sign. What's cool is that it gives the appearance of depth but it is very thin, light, and efficient. I didn't realize this when I bought it, but the light can be dimmed using a separate wire you attach which is controlled by a remote. Unfortunately the remote that came with the light malfunctioned but the Portland Gear team was quick to respond and help me get the issue sorted. I can’t say enough about how much I love the Portland Gear Cascade Standard backpack. After looking for weeks for a backpack for travel I finally decided on this one in Olive. I had a problem trying to order online so contacted Portland Gear by email and within a few days the situation was resolved. Because I was in a time crunch by this time they came to my rescue and expressed shipped it to me free of charge and honored my new customer discount. I used my Portland bag on my recent trip to Cancun, Mexico. I absolutely loved it! Great to travel with and loved the way it opens up so I can easily see what I’m looking for. I was able to fit all my items, including my iPad and chargers. Loved the side pocket for stuffing my iPhone and extra cash. Such a well made bag-the 2 year warranty tells you their confidence in the quality of the stitching! Everyone thinks about the rain but the waterproof function was also great for the beach!
