I use the 3x4m tarp as cover for my swag so I can get in & out without my bed getting wet in the rain, it works great. Depending on where I'm camping, I'll also use it in conjunction with my 3x3m tarp & carbon fibre poles in different configurations. The Alton gear is so versatile & high quality, it hasn't let me down yet.

Great to just help keep you stuff clean and dry. Put a wool blanket on top (car camping) to keep the mats from sliding. Put it into your pack as a liner and use a hair elastic to tie off the top, keeps my stuff dry and made the set up take less time! Hope it helps you too.

I am so happy with my new hammock and tarp set up. It is so light and compact - perfect for hiking with the added bonus of being able to set the tarp up as a tent if needed. I trialled it in the rain and stayed warm and dry all night.

Great product! Really good quality, and super light weight, you don’t even know it’s in your pack. It’s also Probably the most comfortable sleep I’ve had out in the bush

I love this hat! It is super lightweight and comfortable and looks great. I like how it doesn't have the hard stud at the crown so it doesn't hurt your head if you bang it from the top, it also makes is easy to scratch your head if it's itchy. The plastic clip on the back is convenient to strap to a bag or belt loops on trousers. I found the strap too long at the back but after adjusting to my size I cut it and re sewed the end which wasn't difficult. Definitely recommend this product to others...

Works a treat on my stove. Nonstick frying pan is perfect size and is actually non stick. The pot is great and the greater surface area seem to boil the water quicker on the stove. I love how they nest together. Great set for my purpose. The case fits well too.

My ground sheet held up well during a trip to Darwin. It was a huge benefit that it clipped into the Ultralight Bugnet. I slept comfortably and bug free each night!

Very comfortable material, haven’t had the chance to use it yet but set it up in the lounge and is extremely comfortable and easy to fit. Packs down to about the size of a roll of paper towel.

Great quality, it’s almost as comfortable as my regular bed! Easy to inflate it just minutes and compresses down to about the size of a roll of paper towel which is a lot easier to do with the provided elastic strap

Excellent quality! I camped up in the Strathbogie ranges with this by lake Nillahcootie and it kept me nice and toasty in my swag overnight. It is surprisingly light and durable, compressing down to about the size of a roll of paper towel.

Mathew B. review of Base Camp Cooler 45L image 1 out of 1

Outstanding Esky/Cooler Like the reviews mention, can easily hold two bags of ice for 3 days (depending on usage.) Fits well in a Jimny too without being too heavy at any stage. I was contemplating a fridge setup but I think this cooler is more than enough for any future trips I have planned. Well recommended.

A great little flask, sturdy, lightweight and looks the goods too. Best of all the titanium construction doesn’t effect the taste of the important stuff inside it after a long day hiking.

Tried out the ultralight weight sleeping bag on the weekend. Temps were down to about 12degrees at Binna Burra and it was warm and comfortable. The bag compresses really well and takes no room in my pack. Great product for Qld winter and summer conditions

Like all Alton products this pillow is excellent quality. Shipping was quick and arrived before estimated time of arrival, the pillow is feather light and packs down nice and small. Got it next to a pair of large (not extra large) eggs for size reference.

I absolutely love the tarp, it was straightforward to setup and roll down!! I would highly recommend. The only tiny thing is to make the stuff sack a bit bigger around the opening to make it easier to put in. Other than that it is FANTASTIC.

Used this a few times now. The most exceptional tent on the market. All features and not flash fluff. It handled high winds in winter on the Tasmanian Highland lakes with zero complaints. The first 1p tent ever with only use able features I have owned.

I've only had the chance to use the sleeping mat once so far but it was great. The pump bag makes it so easy to inflate, and just as importantly the mat is just as easy to deflate and repack back into it's carry bag. It packs up very small so it won't take up much space in your pack. The quality of the mat and the other items I purchased are very good. Delivery was quick and the pre-sales service from Sam was great. He responded to my queries very promptly. It's great to be able to support suc...

This has been the best pillow I've used so far while out bush. The material is really good & comfortable. It packs away to a very small size which is absolutely amazing. It's very quick to set up & pack away, very good sleep item.

This has been a fantastic piece of equipment in my backpack everytime I go camping out bush. Durable & very easy to put together. It packs down into a very small space taking up literally next to no room. This is my go too as I don't have to rely of gas canisters or spend money over time for fuel, I can just cut up what's near by & I'm good to go 100% recommend this item.

I'll admit I was a little skeptical at first, but using some small chunks of pine kindling, I was able to use my Italian style espresso pot easily and quickly. The stove seems to funnel the heat to the base and once it was going, I don't think it was any slower than it would have been on the gas stove. Only downside is cleaning after use before packing it away.

I just can't say how much this chair and groundsheet improve the situation, I don't have the words. Salubrious is close. Insanely comfortable, lightweight, and with that groundsheet, far out, no getting bogged or bending legs. Top notch

Joshua K. review of 4mm 550 Paracord (7 Strand Core) image 1 out of 2+1

I bought this paracord just before a weekend away as I had heard it had many different uses. When we got to camp, I found we had brought bass lures, (we were camping on a creek), but no rods. Now paracord has 7 inner strands, each of which can be broken down into a further three strands. I cut off about 1.8m of paracord and used 4 of the 7 inner strands to make about 20m of fishing line. One end was tied to a pasta sauce jar, (from last nights dinner), and the other to the lure. We tried trollin...

Absolutely amazing! Roomy, extraordinarily breathable and so much wriggle space! Lightweight yet mighty. Combines all the feeling of stability of an old fashioned canvas swag with the portability and practicality of the new fabric technology. Honestly have never experienced the flexibility and convenience of a bivvy/ swag like this before. Both thumbs up 👍 👍

Have been waiting for a product like this for a long time. Just a class act and perfect in every way for a multitude of solo adventures. Beats my hiking tent setup hands down and doubles as camp swag to replace my bulky swag setup. Packs down ridiculously small.. very happy. .

Love the gear! Took it out to Kitty’s Gorge in WA over the weekend. So easy to set up and have had plenty of interest from mates who liked the look and practicality of the hammock. The colourway (forest green) is awesome too. Tarp and bug net is next on the list - maybe a grill as well. Cheers guys!

I brought this tarp for a recent Kayaking trip and got to use it on the second night for a shelter from the rain whilst cooking our dinner. Everything about the tarp says quality, the tarp itself was perfectly waterproof and acted as an additional water catchment source with the run off. There wasn't a thing to think of to put up the shelter as pegs, dynema cord, cord locks are all there and ready for action. I will be back for more Alton products (sorry i missed the logo in the pictures guys)

I haven’t had a chance to test in the wild just yet. Initial trial in the Kamado was very promising. The weight is great and size is goldilocks - no excuse to leave this baby at home.

Review is for Alton ultralight hammock, polyester sleep straps, bug net. Full disclosure, this is my first hammock camping experience so I can't compare with other brands. Wow, what a gamechanger! Weight and space is hugely important if you're trekking or even motorcycle camping (as we were) and I was amazed by how comfortable sleeping in a hammock can be. It's easily equally, if not more, comfortable than most air beds I've slept on and staring up into the nights sky was an unforgettable ex...

Not only the large stuff is excellent quality but even the small. As for camping never underestimate the importance of a tarp and how it can get you out of trouble. This book is a must for any serious outdoor camper with so much information on set up and on knots. A great item 100%

These ultralight gear pouches are very handy to help keep you organised. I packed all of my base layers/spare hiking clothes for a cold overnighter into a large pouch and it all fit perfectly. The small pouch is perfect for toiletries or electronics. I'll be ordering more large pouches to help organise my food for our upcoming 6 day walk. Love these things!!
