I chose to use a thin layer of ready to roll fondant icing on top of my home made cake to avoid any bleeding of the print that might happen with buttercream. It worked very well, I would just advise very slightly dampening the fondant first to help the print stick. The print really made the cake look almost professional though & my son loved it! Would definitely use again!
