Nice big hook. Flies well even in the 1/2oz size. The lead head seems rugged and tolerates getting banged on rocks well. The hook is so sharp, on a missed note I found two individual scales pinned to the hook tip!
I only find the little hook to retain the soft plastic a little big, at least for the one I used.

I feel that this 12 foot Secret Weapon is an excellent casting rod when snaring for crabs on a pier or surf at the beach. The carrying cast makes it easy to travel around because the five pieces fits neatly in the protected case. I like the fact that it is very easy to cast a long distance using this rod. This will be my go to rod when ever I go crabbing or fishing in the San Francisco Bay area.
