Would recommend but had to persevere - took four coats to get it looking good. It went weirdly patchy after the third coat and I almost gave up. But now the fourth coat is on it looks great and the orange colour is perfect, really vibrant. It took nearly two 500ml bottles to do the footstool, which measures roughly 80x30x60cm. I can’t say enough how pleased I am with this fabric paint. I bought the 500ml and it was more than enough to do this chair. It’s imperative you add water to the paint if you want to get a good bang for your buck. I used a regular tea/coffee mug , poured some of the paint in a quarter of the way up, added another quarter cup of water and mixed. Lovely paint to work with.I had some tired looking dining table chairs what needed recovering to match my up cycling table project.it worked out easier and cheaper to buy your fabric dye so I gave it a go and as you can see it didn’t disappoint very happy with the result. One tip I did find was instead of spraying the fabric I actually went over with a wet cloth first to get the chair quite damp and this proved to make the paint spread better and go further. I ordered 2.5 l (5 bottles) for this big job and I still have 1 bottle left unopened. (Painted the lamp shade too) This is 2 coats on, covered only where we can see it, didnt paint the fabric under the headrest or at the back of the sofa etc. I read reviews before starting where someone said that to mix the paint with water is actually better than water spaying the sofa first. Delighted with this product! I was going to get rid of this armchair as I hated the colour but I liked the shape of the chair. I googled, ‘how to dye a chair’ and Fabricoat came up and I was impressed with the reviews so decided to have a go and I’m so glad that I did! It was easy to apply and I took me a few hours per coat.
