Very comfortable, my wife shoots IDPA and Steel Challenge, and I shoot steel challenge as well. I bought a set for both of us. We tried them out at our range, then at IDPA, and then Steel Challenge. These Axil GS 3.0's are awesome earbuds for general shooting either at the range or outdoors. You can carry-on conversations without removing them as I used to with muffs. While out deer hunting, I could turn up the listening volume and hear a squirrel up in a tree 30 yards away from my stand but I still had the confidence to know my hearing would be protected if and when I had to take a shot. First time using the digital buds was surprisingly great! I entered an indoor range with both the buds and my muffs on. then gradually pulled the muffs back and voila! sound on/hearing protected. I was using the small foam insert and after a while, noticed my right ear started to ringing a bit so I put the muffs back on. since then I've cut grass with them on, used the bluetooth for phone conversations, audio books and had another range visit. I really love the fact that I can hear the Scorekeeper calling out the names of the next up of shooters. I use them to cut grass while listening to music or podcasts. At the range my young teenager can call me and I can talk to him if needed. Its great to have options like regular ear muff mode, Bluetooth only, sound on only, or Bluetooth and sound on.
