Once assembled the box is great. Classic design. Assembly is a little intensive but not complicated. Youre gonna need a block of time to dedicate to putting it together before use, but its worth it.

I have 4 beeyards and have started buying the BeeCastle hive kits with 2 deeps for brood and 1 medium for my honey super. I bought 12 hive kits and I will install them this season. They are solidly built and I love the dovetail joints on the hive boxes. They assemble very tight. I use my own 1-5/8" deck screws. I use a staple and nail gun to assemble the frames. From the moment I went to set my new hives out, I had scout bees checking out the frames. I had to block the entrances since I was waiting for my date to pick up my first 3 nucs.

This is my first hive but I'm very pleased with how it turned out. A couple of the frames did split alittle even with predrilling but the frames still seem to be okay. I just added alittle extra wood glue in those areas. I will be purchasing another hive from this company and recommending to others.

These kits are great. This was my 5th kit and plan to order more. There are knots but not holes-the dovetails are tight. I use a good wood glue on all joints and glue and air staple the frames . Had a problem with my 3rd kit and customer service went above and beyond. I do put a good exterior primer and 2 coats of finish on each box.
