My needs differ than most looking at this product. I have a bay boat with an unusual bow that requires some creativity to get right. Previous owner had thru bolted a large piece of aluminum on the bow and had the troll motor mounted to that permanently. This is a replacement for my original Mag Mount. Which by the way worked Perfectly even in rough seas. Through a set of circumstances, which were 100% my fault, I snapped the shaft. I called Sea Swival to see if I could get replacement parts, they offered to send out a replacement shaft at no charge.
